ImageMore camera traps have been sited in Hue in particular areas in order to get a camera trap picture of the elusive saola. Camera traps are triggered by animals walking in the foresst and are used to do surveys of difficult to record mammals. The Green Corridor project has already identified over 11 species from camera trap records, including Owston’s civet, Truong Son muntjac, masked palm civet and groups of macaques. Please watch this space to see whether we are successful in recording a saola.
