Through an award from the Russel Train Foundation, Thua Thien Hue Forest Protection Department were trained in the management and planning of law enforcement patrols. This vital training will be followed up with grants to patrol areas in the newly proposed saola reserve and the extension to Bach Ma National Park, in order to prevent hunting and illegal logging in these biodiversity rich areas.
