An event was held to review the environmental education and awareness raising events that WWF supported in Hue through the Green Corridor projects. Stakeholders from over 14 primary and secondary schools and representatives from district departments of education and training and local forest units in the project areas that we have been supporting came to discuss how the activities had been beneficial to developing capacity and in teaching students. Many activities were supported by the school programme, including tree planting, painting competitions, song and dance events.

The teachers stated that this program is very meaningful in environment education and conservation awareness to communities. Starting the program, teachers were well armed by project with training courses for skills working with school-children and environment education. Back to school they came up various activities for school children’s awareness on conservation and environment, these are widely spread to schoolchildren’s parents and communities.

WWF also introduced its new Biodiversity Education in Lower-Secondary School Project which will work with schools and colleges in Thua Thien Hue, Ninh Thuan provinces and Hanoi capital city.
