FPD have  established a hotline to assist wildlife protection authorities in efforts to combat the illegal wildlife trade in Vietnam.

If you observe wildlife being displayed, sold, transported, or kept illegally in captivity, please notify your local district Forest Protection Department or contact the Hue Provincial Wildlife Trade Hotline.


Ecological Footprint

We all have an impact on the planet.

"How shall we learn to tread more lightly on the face of the Earth?

One sound answer is to calculate our "ecological footprint", being the impact that each and every one of us makes through our daily lifestyles.

Everybody (from a single individual to a whole city or country) has an impact on the Earth, because they consume the products and services of nature. Their ecological impact corresponds to the amount of nature they occupy to keep them going.

Ecological footprint calculations are based on two simple facts: first, we can keep track of most of the resources we consume and many of the wastes we generate; second, most of these resource and waste flows can be converted to a biologically productive area necessary to provide these functions.

Get involved - what to do?

There are many organizations to be involved with.

In Hue there are two organizations the Nature Care Association and Green Volunteers whereby people can be involved in awareness and fun environmental activities. For more information contact the Green Corridor project office.

WWF International have many campaigns check out the website on www.panda.org and contribute to the International Photo Mosaic.

ENV Vietnam is a local NGO working with school groups, check out their website at www.envietnam.org
